Summary: Didn't want a content management system (CMS) for various reasons. Engineer of the year, designing wind generation systems so MountainRiver CMS provided a design, using Phomph concepts and hooked them into our development system which allowed them to publish page updates via the version management system (git).
MountainRiver CMS of course doesn't recommend this approach and we had to grab some scripts from 2000 to do just the contact form. Web publishing has a lot more moving parts these days that you don't get for free without a framework.
Phomph have since merged with Joule Logic. New site, and new set of problems - they downloaded a wordpress theme to save some money. Reusing is 'the way to save money', however are a surprising number of pitfalls in this approach and wordpress takes a lot of maintaining. If you need wind technologies support Joule Logic.
