MountainRiver CMS worked on a number of marketing and community sites in 2013. Interesting for it's multi-lingual - Turkish and English - capabilities Alacer Gold was updated, including the multi-lingual capability.
Around the middle of the year we had the opportunity to work on the BioShock Infinite games website. Another content management system (Expression Engine CMS) and another set of deployment, deadline and content gathering challenges. MountainRiver CMS was able to add the required pages (Downloadable Content), introduce a structured development process, enhance features such as the social media integration and multi-lingual capability and generally fix errors on the site. Irrational Games commented that it was the best deployment that they have had. Along the way, thanks to Five by Five LA we fixed a Human Resources system for Activision, worked on Heroku deployment and site modifications for Sledgehammer Games and fixed some caching (CDN) issues. Flexing our technical muscles further we did some prototyping using some futuristic technologies such as Bootstrap and AngularJS for a mobile application for "its a secret". That is a lot of technology to cover for a year - along with our standard Drupal and Grails activities.
Gemaker is leading in commercialisation of scientific innovations. Being able to support smart people is a privilege and although they have a small marketing budget they have been working mailing lists, social media and the website in an ongoing and effective way. Natalie continues to win awards for being generally innovative and her work supporting commercialisation fo science.
Smart Services CRC in a similar, promotion of technology way, is focusing on products with the development of material around "iSee Video Collaboration" and "Cruiser Connected Services". As a multi-platform connected kind of organisation they have been working both on the science of multi-formatted sites and on having their sites support phone, tablets and less 'touch friendly' computer systems.
Community site building - bringing people together technically - is a big part of what MountainRiver CMS does. The Ecological Society website for 2013 was again our showcase for community.
A number of organisations worked with us in 2013, promoting their space within commercial niches. These people are dedicated and expert in what they do: Hydropumping Australia, Reflexion Therapies, Telena Rogers Gallery, Kanu Kapers Australia. In the accommodation vertical some nice sites were developed: By Bondi Beach and Anna at Bower Cottage Accommodation has been getting into the publishing and social media stride. In the academic arena we provided David McKnight with a site, promoting amongst other things his latest book Big Coal. more for mums was launched just before Christmas with a goal of becoming the key site in Australia supporting Mums mental balance.
In the spirit of 'touch friendly' here is a teaser screen shot of a site that we have supported for a while but are currently working on an upgrade for - DocDownload.
